Magi Character - Gyokuen Re

Gyokuen Ren was the widow of the two former Emperors of the Kou Empire and also the leader of the organization Al-Thamen. Gyokuen succeeded her second husband as Empress Regnant. Her original identity was Arba, a former Magi from Alma Torran and the one who helped raise Solomon Jehoahaz Abraham, but eventually turned against him and established Al-Thamen.

Gyokuen was a slim, youthful woman of average height. She had pale blue eyes, which turn black when she reveals her more sinister side, and short, dark blue hair, with two longer braids tied in loops. She has thin eyebrows, a mole on her chin, and usually wears red lipstick. She also wears a small hat decorated with a flower-shaped jewel, and floor-length pink and white robes. She is noted as being a great beauty, especially in her youth.

When she was King Solomon's Magi, she had long messy brown hair that is tied in pigtails, until her right one was cut off. She wore a white robe with various items of jewellery. Her Divine Stave was topped with a winged spherical jewel. She later held a staff with a crescent moon-shaped head that previously belonged to Sheba.

In Hakuryuu's memories, Gyokuen appeared as a very gentle, loving mother, protecting and showing great care towards Hakuryuu and Hakuei after they survived the fire that killed their father along with Hakuyuu and Hakuren. Later, she started to show her devious and deceitful side, smiling sinisterly while crying as she is appointed the Third Emperor, and flirting with her stepson Kouen. As mentioned by Hakuryuu, Gyokuen is a woman who cares nothing for her children, and she is willing to do anything to gain and maintain power - going so far as to kill her own children and husband.

Gyokuen (then known as Arba) was born in Alma Torran and helped raise King Solomon from young and was one of his first friends. Arba fought alongside him as a fellow magician until the day where Solomon "killed god" where she eventually became one of his three magis. However, overcome with the oppressing "cage of destiny" she established Al-Thamen in order to challenge and defeat Solomon's Will. Her grudge carried over to the next world in her reincarnation as Gyokuen Ren.

When Sinbad was born, Gyokuen, Scheherazade, Matal Mogamett and Yunan sensed the strong resonation of Rukh.

Gyokuen probably married her first husband, Hakutoku Ren, and began bearing his children in her teens. They had three sons and a daughter together (from oldest to the youngest): Hakuyuu, Hakuren, Hakuei and Hakuryuu. Her first two sons and husband died in a fire fighting against Al-Thamen, whose members were probably sent by Gyokuen herself. After her husband's death, she later remarried Hakutoku's brother, the Second Emperor, Koutoku Ren.

Gyokuen is first seen in Hakuryuu's memories. The first memory shows Hakuryuu crying after he had a nightmare. Gyokuen calms him and says that he does not need to be worried because his father is an incredible person and unified three countries for the sake of the people. When her husband and two of her sons died in the fire planned by herself, Koutoku Ren is appointed as the Second Emperor of the Kou Empire. Displaying a depressed face, Gyokuen explains to Hakuei and Hakuryuu that she will marry Koutoku and they will be able to live as Imperial Prince and Princess. Then Hakuei tries to comfort her.

In another memory, Hakuryuu asks her about if she really killed his brothers and father, since her oldest son had told him that before he died, but Gyokuen only smiles and says that even if it is true he is powerless and can not do anything.

Magi Characters - Koumei Ren

Koumei Ren is the Kou Empire's second Imperial Prince. He is a General of the Kou Empire's Western Subjugation Army together with his brothers, Kouen and Kouha. Koumei is the owner of the Djinn Dantalion. He is a Dungeon Capturer, capturing one Dungeon, and one of Judar's King Vessels.

Koumei is a thin man with long, messy red hair tied back into a ponytail and pink slanted eyes. He has acne scars on his nose and cheeks. He wears baggy robes bearing a taijitu symbol and the big dipper constellation, matching bracelets and a large earring in his left ear. He carries a fan of black feathers, which is also his Metal Vessel.

Kouha claims that Koumei is "ugly" and, in his concept art, it is stated that he doesn't have a pretty face.

Koumei constantly emits a gloomy aura. He has a serene personality that dislikes actual combat, despite being born in a military nation. It seems that Koumei, who is more of the liberal arts kind, is more cut out for shutting himself in a room, reading documents and planning military strategies, rather than engaging in actual combat. None is superior to him when it comes to military tactics .

Koumei, being the intellectual he is, immerses himself during war councils to the point he loses his sense of time, so that his sleeping and eating habits (and also his appearance) suffer as a result.

Unlike Kouen, he speaks courteously to everyone. Although outwardly Koumei appears unassuming and somewhat lazy, and shows absolutely no interest in the power struggles that exist between his siblings, he is prepared to stop at nothing to unify the world beneath the Kou Empire.

Koumei is the second son of the First Emperor's younger brother, Koutoku Ren; he and his brother Kouen have the same mother.

After the death of the Emperor and his heirs in a revolt, Koumei's father became the Second Emperor, making him the Second Prince.

Koumei conquered the 71st Dungeon and obtained his Djinn, Dantalion, when he was 20 years old.

It was Koumei who devised the system of government whereby lands conquered by the Kou Empire are forced to adhere to their customs and absorbed.

When Judar arrives in Balbadd, he greets Koumei, who says he was worried since they couldn't get in contact with him. Judar, to apologize for his lateness, gives him a gift from Sindria. Koumei is worried about the fact Judar came from such a place. Koumei, his younger brother, Kouha, and the priest go to where Kouen is. Judar says to Kouen that he has declared war to Sindria, Koumei gets angry since Judar made not only Sindria, but also the entire Seven Seas Alliance into their enemies without the Emperor permission. But Kouen starts laughing and tells everyone that for his empire that will rule the east, the day in which it will rule the world is imminent.

Koumei is in the Imperial City, with his assistant, to attend at Emperor's funeral, and welcomes Hakuei and her troops. Koumei is amazed at how quickly she arrived, Hakuei tells him that it was thanks to the help of Hakuryuu. After that, Hakuryuu Ren arrives along with his Household Vessel, and he seems a little worried with his change. They enter to the royal palace and Kouen arrives shortly after that, then Koumei bows to him.

The next day, he attends to the funeral along with his siblings. There, Gyokuen Ren greets her children. Koumei keeps a serious expression when Gyokuen grabs Kouen's arm and asks if he will support her. Kouha starts talking to Koumei and says that Gyokuen always fawned over En, and now it seems she has finally decided to move on from him. Kouha asks him if in that case they don't need to hear the testament, but Koumei only says to Kouha mind his manners and look forward, since the priests will begin to read the Emperor's testament. He is shocked and disgusted like everyone when Gyokuen is appointed as Emperor.

At the end of the day, he talks with his brothers about Al-Thamen. Koumei says that the "Organization" have changed their modus operandi as they begin to become so visible, referring to his aunt. Kouha tells Kouen that what happened in Magnostadt wasn't what they expected. When he was negotiating with them, even though Matal Mogamett faltered when Kouha mentioned Gyokuen, the chancellor refused to collaborate. Koumei mentions that Magnostadt is just like the Kou Empire was a few years ago, with their mass-production of Magic Tools, and the sudden development and increase in their military force. He suspects that Al-Thamen is behind it. Kouen states that it is the result of their Magicians that they were able to expand their strength to that extent, and that if they would come to oppose the Kou Empire, they would be a frightening country.

Magi Character - Kougyoku Ren

Kougyoku Ren is the Kou Empire's eighth Imperial Princess. She is currently a General of the Kou Empire's Western Subjugation Army. Kougyoku is the owner of the Djinn Vinea. She is a Dungeon Capturer, capturing one Dungeon, and one of Judar's King Vessels. Due to Sinbad periodically taking control of her mind, she has allied herself with Sindria.

Kougyoku is a small young girl with pink eyes and long, dark pink hair, which is pinned up with her golden Metal Vessel. She usually wears a long, elaborate dress signifying her royalty. She carries herself demurely and often hides her face behind her sleeves when embarrassed.

Kougyoku’s greatest charm is her wealth of facial expressions that convey the various changes in her heart. She tends to act childishly, but there are times when Kougyoku, as the stubborn imperial princess, wears a cold mask in order to overwhelm her opponents at a scenes of diplomacy. Even though she puts up such a willful front, she is actually a very lonely person and wants friends. She doesn't want to follow all of the Kou Empire's orders but is too scared to disobey.

She has always wanted to have friends and close companions, but within her family, she has felt ostracized because of her parentage and has not even had the courage to get to know Hakuei or Hakuryuu, the more approachable of her relatives. Instead, she occupied herself with becoming skilled at kemari by herself, playing make-believe by herself, doing a fashion show by herself, etc.

Kougyoku, who was anxious to have a place for herself due to having a complicated lineage, discovers the meaning to her own existence as a soldier. She fights, willingly risking her life for her important people. She holds a pride greater than anyone else. It is as though it is a way for her to confirm her personal sense of existence.

Kougyoku is the youngest daughter of the First Emperor's younger brother, Koutoku Ren. She has a history like Alibaba Saluja: she wasn't born into royalty like her siblings, because she is the daughter of an unknown, lowly courtesan. She calls herself as a "lowborn".

After the death of the Emperor and his heirs in a fire, Kougyoku's father became the Second Emperor, making her the eight Imperial Princess.

Even in the Imperial Palace, since she had no parents or other relatives, she was forgotten by everyone and felt out of place. However, when she was about nine years old, Koubun Ka was assigned to be her assistant. With his persuasion, he was able to make the princess try harder to do her duties, since from that moment on she was the eighth princess and no longer the youngest daughter of the younger brother of the Emperor.

At that time, Judar and her brother Kouen were the only ones to acknowledge her as a King Vessel and gave her the position of a warrior.

She captured the 45th Dungeon and obtained her Djinn, Vinea, with the help of her assistant, Koubun Ka.

Magi Character - Kouen Ren

Kouen Ren is the Kou Empire's first Imperial Prince. He is the General Commander of the Kou Empire's Western Subjugation Army. Kouen is the owner of three Djinns, Agares, Astaroth and Phenex. He is a Dungeon Capturer, capturing three Dungeons, and one of Judar's King Vessels.

Kouen is a tall, well-built man with red eyes and red hair tied back into a little ponytail, a goatee, thin eyebrows, and a small black hat with a yellow gem in the center. He wears traditional clothes that signify his royal status, and a black cape. He carries his Metal Vessels with him: a sword, a hilt ornament on it and a metal pauldron on his right shoulder, which resembles a lion's head.

Though he is not very expressive, Ohtaka refers to him as "handsome".

Kouen seems to be a calm and serious person, but he also likes wars and wants to increase the power and territory of the Kou Empire. Kouen has a desire to become the only king in the world. He wants his siblings to help him but doesn't wish to force them if they aren't willing to.

In contrast to his tyrannical public image, Kouen also possess an intellectual side in reading documents and learning about history.According to his brother Kouha, even if he always thinks about the country, in private he's a person greedy for knowledge. He doesn't mind hurting himself if it's for the sake of his goals.

He also wants to solve the riddle of the Torran Language and the King Vessel and how they are linked to the past. To do so, he is willing to side even with a complete stranger, for as long as he is certain that the person in question will give him the answers he seeks.

Kouen is the eldest son of the first Emperor's younger brother, Koutoku Ren; he and his brother Koumei have the same mother. He became interested in history and war at an early age, often studying history scrolls and observing wars.

Kouen conquered both the 2nd and 29th Dungeons when he was 16, obtaining his first and second Djinns, Agares and Astaroth. At that time, he fought with Emperor Hakutoku together with Hakuyuu and Hakuren in unifying the Eastern Plains,

After the death of the first Emperor and his heirs in a fire, Kouen's father became the second Emperor, making him the first Prince.

When he was 22, he conquered the 37th Dungeon and obtained his third Djinn, Phenex, and started his own war campaign.

He was present when his brother Kouha obtained his Djinn, Leraje.

Kouen is in the Kou Empire's Army's Base in Balbadd's territory, with the Left General, Kokuhyou Shuu, and the Right General, Seiryuu Ri, waiting for Judar's return. When Judar goes to talk with him, Kouen says that, for Judar to make him wait he must've brought him an interesting present. Judar says he has, that he told Sinbad, "Why don't you fight a war, against us?" Kouha and Koumei are surprised that he did this without the Emperor's permission. Kouen starts laughing, and says that's very befitting for the Magi of his empire. Kouen tells everyone that for his empire that will rule the east, the day in which it will rule the world is imminent.

Magi Character - Kouha Ren

Kouha Ren is the Kou Empire's third Imperial Prince. He is a General of the Kou Empire's Western Subjugation Army together with his brothers, Kouen and Koumei. Kouha is the owner of the Djinn Leraje. He is a Dungeon Capturer, capturing one Dungeon, and one of Judar's King Vessels.

Kouha appears as a young boy with an androgynous aspect. He has long pink hair, short in the back and has three braids on his fringe, and pink eyes. He also wears a blue hat with a design on it that has golden wings, two long red veils and a white chinese-like dress with a pair of shorts. He also wears two golden bracelets, each with a green jewel, but his Metal Vessel is his sword.

He appears to enjoy hitting his attendants, especially the females. He also has a twisted personality commonly known as "yangire" in Japanese - and takes pleasure butchering his enemies. He also loves the sight of blood and is well known in Kou Empire for his eccentric personality.

Kouha also has a nice and extremely caring side to him, especially towards his attendants. When they were thrown away and left to rot, Kouha came to them asking for magic users. He bandaged them, clothed them, smiled at them, and appointed them. Though they think they are ugly because they have to be bandaged up, Kouha tells them that they aren't ugly, that it is proof that they have seized their power and paved their way of life, and adds that it's charming. This is why his servants love him so much now, and even ask to be hit by him.

Aside from that, Kouha is loyal when it comes to his older brothers. He respects them and is willing to support them the best he can.

Kouha is the third and youngest son of the First Emperor's younger brother, Koutoku Ren. He does not share the same mother as his brothers Kouen and Koumei, who have the same mother.

After the death of the Emperor and his heirs in a fire, Kouha's father became the Second Emperor, making him the third Prince.

When Kouha was a child, against the advice of older people, he chose outcasts and odd people to be part of his army; ones that were failed experiments of artificial Magicians—such as Jinjin, Junjun and Reirei, low standing swordsmen joined or born to various clans, and warriors who were exiled into the wilderness after their ancestors planned a revolt 120 years ago.

People started to talk about Kouha. They would say that it is to be expected that Kouha would gather twisted people. They said that since his childhood, he had an eccentric personality and liked the sight of blood. They also said that this must be from the fact that his mother lost her sanity for a long time, and that even if he becomes a general, its impossible for him to be suitable as Kou's Emperor.

Kouha tells his subordinates that the country isn't expecting anything from them, and that the way things are now, they can live their lives in shadows. He says, "But if you wanna go someplace where you and your family can have a future you can be proud of, to a brighter place where you can live with dignity, then... You must know no shame. Raise your heads and fight!" He says that they are lucky, and that they have people who want to do these things with them. Kouha says that his brothers En and Mei already took care of him, so now he'll take care of them. Then he asks if they're are any idiots who want to try and raise their stupid mugs.

At the age of 15, he was present in the treasure room of the 14th Dungeon, Leraje, with his brother, Kouen, and their subordinates who came to conquer the Dungeon. The Djinn, Leraje, told Kouha that if she was a normal Djinn, she wouldn't chose him, but the sexy guy standing on his side (Kouen). She says that Kouen is a cheater that already controls 3 Djinn, and she swore to stop falling in love with playboys like him. Kouha asks what she means, and adds that her make-up is shitty and she has the face of someone who was just left by her man. Leraje says shut up, and that she doesn't want to see a world that's ruled by a single and absolute king. She wants to see a king, and his strong retainers that wouldn't even lose to him, work together in order to build this world, this time. Kouha says it would be enough if he was just just a part of En's Household, but Leraje says no, and that he isn't fit to be the vessel for a Household. She says that she understood the kind of person Kouha was by looking at the eyes of his men.

Magi Character - Serendine Dikumenowlz Du Parthevia

Serendine Dikumenowlz Du Parthevia is the First Princess of the Parthevia Empire.

Serendine is a petite yet voluptuous young woman with a confident expression. She has pink eyes and light pink hair in a complex style: straight bangs, a purple headband, and several long braids, ending in metal rings. There are also two loops of hair framing her face. She usually wears a military uniform: a transparent tunic, a low-cut breast plate with a spider design, shoulder plates with a floral design, a purple cape, a metal thong, shin guards and boots that reach her thighs. She carries a sword at her waist.

Serendine seems to have an energetic personality, and speaks with confidence. She's aware of her reputation as a tomboyish princess, but she doesn't seem to care; she's also proud of the fear she awakens on Parthevia's enemies. She has a familiar treatment with the people she's close to, and cares about Drakon as if he were of her family.

Serendine can become brutally angry if someone speaks ill of her father the Emperor, injuring the person in question by herself and also threatening with torture, though it's unknown if she carries out her threats.

She is a prideful person and prefers to be treated more as a warrior than as a girl. Since they were children, Serendine and Drakon were very close, and Drakon used to follow her around.

Dragul is thinking about the mission that is entrusted to him, and thinks aloud, saying that his brothers would never be assigned a mission of this kind. Serendine appears behind him and says that he shouldn't speak of such things so lightly inside the palace. She then greets him, saying that it's been awhile. When Dragul formally greets her, she says to call her just Seren, since it's shorter, and she addresses to him as Dragul Jr. Dragul asks her to call himself only Dragul since Jr was his childhood name. Serendine answers that he's too serious at times like these, and reminds him that when he was little he was a sweet little brother who followed her around like a duckling. Then she leaves that topic and says that she's heard that Dragul has been appointed the commander in the conquest corps. Dragul agrees, and says that, even if he's only the youngest son she treated him like one of her own family, and swears that he won't fail into the quest, because she will never do anything to soil her reputation. Serendine hits him on the head and says that she already has a terrible reputation as the Venomous Spider Princess of Parthevia, but that she likes this nickname, and thinks that suits her. Then, with a serious face, she says that if Dragul dies she won't forgive him, and takes her leave.

Serendine appears in Dragul's flashback when he's fighting against Sinbad inside the Dungeon. Serendine and Dragul's eldest brother, the Left General of Parthevia, Barbarossa, have been engaged and Dragul is formally congratulating them. Serendine is sitting next to Barbarossa, with a sad expression, and when she hears Dragul expressing his joy she becomes sadder, about to cry. She begins to say something but Barbarossa interrupts her, who thanks Dragul in an emotionless way and says to to the princess that he promises her a prosperous future of Parthevia. Dragul remains silent and Serendine's eyes fill up with tears.

After Sinbad and Drakon return from the Dungeon, she is seen staying with the army in the Contastia Harbor where Sinbad is said to be seen frequently. She orders her soldiers to capture Sinbad if they see him, and when her assistants tell her that there's no need for her presence, she answers that now they don't have many soldiers to mobilize, and she thinks that will make Sinbad pay for hurting Dragul. Then, some citizen begins to complain and insult the Emperor, which makes Serendine become furious and attacks the person who offended her father. She's about to punch the man again, when Sinbad suddenly appears and stops her. Sinbad calls Serendine "Cute girl", much to her assistants' dismay, who quickly introduce Serendine as the first princess of Parthevia. Serendine confronts Sinbad and poisons him, but he manages to steal the antidotes from her and embarrasses Serendine by totally exposing her chest. Sinbad takes her as his hostage and boards his ship, but soon releases her when he begins his journey, calling her "cute girl" again.

Magi Character - Ja'far

Ja'far is the adviser of Sinbad and one of the Eight Generals of the Sindria Kingdom.

Ja'far is an average sized man with pale skin, short white hair and black eyes. He also has freckles around his nose. He wears a long drabe that covers his entire body, and a green Arabian keffiyeh on his head. He always carries around his red wires, which is his Household Vessel, Bararaq Sei. When enraged, his eyes change into eyes that resemble those of a snake and turn gray. When Ja'far's hair is shown, it is always wild, as has been like this since he was young.

In certain instances, Ja'far's legs can be seen to be marked with two large, almost stitch like scars, which were originally confused with the jagged seams of his young assassin trousers in their first appearance. Since, recent art of Ja'far has cleared the buzzing debate and confirmed the canonical nature of the lines on his legs as scars, not to be confused with his attire as a child.

Ja'far is a serious person, who gets angry easily. He is most often the voice of reason when Sinbad is doing something outrageous. He tends to scold Sinbad a lot, despite Sinbad being his King, older, and stronger than him.

When provoked or angered, Ja'far shows a whole different side to himself. He was easily willing to kill Cassim when the latter opposed Sinbad. Another time this happened was when Judar called Ja'far a "small fry" and told him to step aside, because he had some business with Sinbad. Enraged, Ja'far was going to use his Household Vessel, Bararaq Sei with his full strength, but was stopped by Sinbad before he could do so.

Ja'far killed both his parents at the age of six and at some point joined and became leader of Parthevia's undercover unit, the assassins Sham Lash.

After the dungeon of Baal was conquered by Sinbad, Parthevia's Emperor ordered his troupe to track down and capture Sinbad, and take out Drakon if he became troublesome. The Emperor did not want Sinbad dead, but sought out the troupe because they knew sensitive information that the soldiers did not, and were excellent at dealing with combat. Despite the Emperor's wishes, Ja'far tried to assassinate him for unknown reasons. He failed in the assassination and, for reasons that are yet unknown, decided to serve him as a vassal. Little is known about Ja'far's history, but it is evident that, from a young age, he was under intensely abusive treatment, which would have most likely warped his ethical reasoning and his physical body. It is even shown that he was forced to kill his own parents.

Since his assassin days, Ja'far has apparently become quite tame and serious. Sinbad remarked that Ja'far's eyes were always rogue when they'd first met. Over the course of their acquaintance, Ja'far has apparently grown very close to his King, to the point where he is the only character to have nicknamed Sinbad, calling him always by "Sin." There appears to be a respect between Sinbad and Ja'far, as Ja'far was entrusted with the care of the entire Kingdom of Sindria while Sinbad was away.

Magi Character - Drakon

Drakon, or Dragul Nol Henrius Govius Menudias Partenuvonomias Dumid Os Kartanon , his full name, is one of the Eight Generals of Sindria. He is a former general of the Parthevia Empire. He was the first of the Eight Generals to meet Sinbad and the first member of Sinbad's Household. Drakon is part of Parthevia's Dragul Family, and son of the Parthevian General Draguliel Pertegomidus. He is a minor character in Magi, and a main character in Adventure of Sinbad.

Drakon has a dragon-like appearance, with scales and green skin. He is particularly taller than most humans, but shorter than Hinahoho. He has amber eyes. First seen in Adventure of Sinbad, Drakon appears to be a young man with long dark green hair, cropped short around his face, amber eyes, and a single hanging earring on his left ear.

Sinbad has stated that despite his appearance, he was once a human and a sincere man.

When Drakon was the Parthevia Empire Army's Commander Officer, he had a strong sense of patriotism and greatly disliked the ways of his brother. Drakon came from the Parthevia Empire. Since he was a child, Drakon had a close relationship with the First Imperial Princess, Serendine Dikumenowlz Du Parthevia and used to follow her around.

He became a Parthevia Empire Army's Commander Officer at 14 (he still had human aspect), as his family has been generals for many generations. When Baal's Dungeon appeared on Parthevia, the Emperor wanted to obtain its power, since Parthevia was in war against Reim Empire. All the soldiers who were sent to the Dungeon died, and the Emperor also decided to send Drakon. Drakon recruited more people among the population, and one of them was Sinbad, with whom he didn't go along well. In the Dungeon they found many obstacles, and the only ones who reached the treasury were Drakon and Sinbad. Baal appeared in front of them, and the two boys fought each other, agreeing that the one who won would obtain Baal's power. Sinbad defeated Drakon and became the first dungeon conqueror. In that point, Drakon was beginning to recognize Sinbad. When he returns the Parthevia's Emperor is angry with him because Sinbad obtained the Metal Vessel, and orders Drakon to capture Sinbad.
It's unknown when his aspect changed. Only few people along with Sinbad and his wife know what he was like as a human.

Magi Character - Hinahoho

Hinahoho  is one of the Eight Generals of the Sindria Kingdom. He is from Imuchakk, and is the son of one of its Patriarchs.

Hinahoho has a gigantic physique, like everyone of his race, with long blue hair, which is usually tied in a ponytail. He wears a blue bandana around his forehead. He also has amber colored eyes, and carries around a Rampaging Unicorn horn as a weapon. He also has light stubble on his chin.

Hinahoho has a kindhearted personality and cares about his kids a great deal. He loves kids so much, he even tries to get Sinbad to start his own family.

When he was young, Hinahoho was very timid, cowardice and often being a crybaby. He lacked courage on himself, to which even his little sister, Pipirika, treated him like a child, until he met Sinbad.

He came from the Extreme North's Unexplored Region and became a resident of Sindria under special circumstances. Hinahoho is a widower and has five children.

[Hinahoho] (currently unnamed) crashes into a boat in the middle of the sea. On the boat was a starving and thirsty boy named Sinbad. [Hinahoho] apologizes and shares some of his water with Sinbad. Sinbad thanks him and calls him a lifesaver. [Hinahoho] cries as she says its been so long since he has heard thanks. Pipirika, [Hinahoho]'s sister, jumps on the boat and apologizes for her and her brother. Pipirika introduces herself and [Hinahoho] as people of the Imuchakk Tribe. Sinbad asks if everyone of their race have such big bodies. Pipirika and [Hinahoho] agree, and [Hinahoho] says she's only 13 and he only 21. Sinbad asks for [Hinahoho]'s name, but Pipirika says that he doesn't have a name yet. She informs Sinbad that other than the childhood name given at birth, to be given an adult name, a man of the Imuchakk must complete the coming of age ceremony.

She calls [Hinahoho] miserable as "it" blew him away again. Sinbad asks what "it" is. She tells Sinbad that the coming of age ceremony of the Imuchakk is a test of courage against the Rampaging Unicorn. [Hinahoho] draws and explains that a Rampaging Unicorn is a huge type of fish. Pipirika is mad he draws better than her and says drawing is girlish and if he mans up, the girl he likes might turn and look at him. She explains that the girl is the top beauty of Imuchakk, and even if he wants to propose after the coming of age ceremony, it's futile. [Hinahoho] says that if he defeats a Rampaging Unicorn and become an admirable warrior, his affection will reach that person. He says until then he will not return to the village, and in order to propose he will work hard. Sinbad interrupts and asks if the monster attacking now is the Rampaging Unicorn.

[Hinahoho], Pipirika, and Sinbad agree to work together to beat the Rampaging Unicorn. [Hinahoho] and Pipirika explain to Sinbad about the Rampaging Unicorn. The fish's body is covered in hard coal, and has a distinctive long horn. Pipirika explains that the weapons they use are harpoons. She tells Sinbad that the Imuchakk is a tribe that takes pride in swimming, and that they seek battle with the Rampaging Unicorn in order to show ones proficiency in swimming, assessment of the situation underwater, and battle skill. She also explains that while [Hinahoho] is good at swimming, he lacks courage and hasn't stabbed the Rampaging Unicorn once. Sinbad comes up with the idea to use traps against the Rampaging Unicorn. [Hinahoho] says that in actual battle battle victory can be achieved from the combination of strength and wisdom. He then strongly says to Sinbad, "I beg of you, please lend me your wisdom."

Sinbad plan is to lead the Rampaging Unicorn. When Sinbad yells now, [Hinahoho] and Pipirika shoot arrows at it. They both jump into the water. Hinahoho thinks about the plan Sinbad made. The plan is to wrap the arrows in rope around a tree. This will uproot the trees and bring them into the ocean, and once there extend the battlefield by giving [Hinahoho] more footing. [Hinahoho] uses it to jump high in the air and stab the Rampaging Unicorn. He is happy to have finally stabbed it with his harpoon. Pipirika warns [Hinahoho] that he should quick as a storm is about to come, but [Hinahoho] does not give up. He feels if he cant defeat the Rampaging Unicorn right now, no one will ever acknowledge him. He yells, "I won't be treated as a child. I've had enough!!" The Rampaging Unicorn throws [Hinahoho] off. Sinbad says that [Hinahoho]'s spirit has won him over, and uses Baal's power to finish it off.

[Hinahoho] and Pipirika are both astonished at how Sinbad finished it out. [Hinahoho] wonders if he can still say that it was him who defeated the Rampaging Unicorn, and if he's an adult now.

After a week, they all sett off toward Imuchakk. [Hinahoho] has also taken off the horn of the Rampaging Unicorn and is carrying it around. When they arrive back to Imuchakk, they are greeted by all of the Imuchakk. [Hinahoho]'s and Pipirika's father, one of the Patriarchs of the Imuchakk, greets [Hinahoho] upon his return.

Magi Character - Sinbad

Sinbad is the King of Sindria. He is a Dungeon Capturer, having captured seven Dungeons, and a King Vessel. He is also the leader of the Seven Seas Alliance. Sinbad has already halfway "fallen into depravity". He is often accompanied by members of the Eight Generals who are his most trusted companions. He is a major character in Magi, and the main character of Adventure of Sinbad.

Sinbad is a tall, attractive man with tan skin and a muscular build. He has golden eyes and very long, purple hair tied in a ponytail. He wears floor-length purple and white robes, a white turban with feather decorations, and pointed red shoes. Sinbad also wears a lot of jewelry, most of which are actually the Metal Vessels (bangle, necklace, ring, etc.) he's collected over his years of dungeon diving, though he has had his hoop earrings since childhood. Sinbad also has a long, thin ahoge that sticks straight up. He carries himself confidently and usually has an easy smile on his face.

Sinbad is a laid back and fun-loving person. He is somewhat infamous among his subjects for getting drunk and doing outrageous things, to the point that even his closest friends don't believe him when he says that he didn't take advantage of a young princess under the influence. He can be quite a flirt and is not above using his charm to get what he wants. He tends to remove his clothes when asleep.

Despite all this, he can be serious when the need arises and is a great and honorable king who is respected and admired by everyone, especially his subjects (whom he seems to consider a sort of extended family).

Though he does altruistic deeds for other people seemingly without thanks, later it is revealed that he helped Alibaba Saluja, Aladdin, and Hakuryuu Ren because they represented powerful potential allies in his battle against Al-Thamen. When talking to Ja'far, he realizes that he became a sly person after accomplishing too many things and is now the person he never wanted to be.

He was born and raised in Tison Village of the Parthevia Empire. When Yunan and others sensed his birth, Yunan called him a Miracle. When Sinbad was 14, he captured his first and the world's first Dungeon, which was summoned by Yunan and in there his father lost his life. Since then, he has captured 6 more. It seems that having more than 7 Djinn is not allowed in this universe, because now neither he nor any members of his Household are allowed to enter Dungeons. Sinbad has also sailed across the world's seven seas, hence his nickname: Sinbad, the High King of the Seven Seas, and founded his own country, Sindria.

In his teen years, Sinbad trained with the Yambala Gladiators, during which he learned how to use Magoi Manipulation, which took him a year.

During his journeys, he recruited all of his future Kingdom's Generals. The five who are actually permanent residents of Sindria are Drakon, a former officer in the Parthevia Empire who began as Sinbad's enemy, Hinahoho, an Imuchakk warrior from the north, Ja'far, a young assassin who was hired to murder Sinbad, Masrur, one of the Fanalis Champions of the Reim Gladiator Colosseum, and Yamraiha, an ex-student of Magnostadt's Magic Academy. Sinbad also befriended Sharrkan, Pisti, and Spartos along the way, though these three are technically still members of other nations.

Sinbad has mentioned that the former King of Balbadd, Rashid Saluja, taught him many things, which included how to run a country. However, Sinbad didn't truly understand the responsibility until after he experienced a certain battle in which he hurt Sindria and its residents. He lost someone special in the conflict, much like the situation between Alibaba Saluja and Cassim. Rashid Saluja also gave him a sword, which he later passed on to Alibaba as an encouragement to pull himself together after he lost his way.

He has a bad history with Judar and Al-Thamen. Sinbad has conquered some of the Dungeons that Judar raised, and fought with him on multiple occasions. His hatred of Al-Thamen is such that he kills all the members that he faces and crushes their doll forms after their defeats with no remorse. He revealed to Ithnan that somewhere along the line, he halfway "fell into depravity", which lets him use both white and black Rukh, albeit at a heavy price.

Magi Character - Morgiana

Morgiana is a Fanalis. She was formerly a slave of Jamil, along with Goltas, when she met Aladdin and Alibaba Saluja. Morgiana is a member of Alibaba's household. She is the tritagonist of the Magi series.

Morgiana has red hair and eyes (both pink in the anime), like all of the Fanalis. She wears a short white dress with a rope tied around her waist. She wears her leg chains, which are now a Household Vessel, on her wrists, and a backup vessel, which is a necklace, around her neck. She always goes around barefoot. She has a sturdy yet petite build and is very strong.

During her travel to the Dark Continent, Morgiana started wearing a white sleeveless tunic over her dress, tied with a longer ribbon. Her hair also grew longer, reaching down to her mid-back. She now wears her Household Vessel on her legs.

Morgiana is a quiet girl who rarely talks. She likes strange things, for instance, instead of choosing jewelry for her Household Vessel, she considered two devilish looking manifers (though possibly only because Alibaba recommended them). When mad, she usually puffs up her cheeks or stomps her feet on the ground (which causes it to rupture).

Even though she is physically and emotionally tough, she does have moments when she acts vulnerable, this usually happens when anything regarding Alibaba takes place. It is hinted that she has feelings for him and this is proven when she rejects Hakuryuu's proposal. Eventually, he realizes that she refused to marry him and go to the Kou Empire because she is too attached to Alibaba and very concerned for Aladdin.

She is secretly very insecure because she always deems herself to be useless compared to the others. Her biggest wish is to be useful to Aladdin and Alibaba (probably because she wants to repay their kindness towards her). She is flattered but frightened by Hakuryuu's feelings for her, and she stated that becoming Empress was impossible since she used to be a slave, showing aspects of her inferiority complex.

Most of Morgiana's past is still a mystery, except that she is originally from the Dark Continent. At a young age, Morgiana was taken from her mother and father and was sold at a market as a slave. One of the things that happened to her while she was there was being stripped and shown off naked. During that time, she used to cry out for her mother and father to save her.

At some point, Morgiana was sold to Jamil, who abused her to the point of her being terrified of him, something that still haunts her. Like Aladdin pointed out, Morgiana had invisible chains on her, set by Jamil. She had something similar to Stockholm syndrome, where the captive starts to sympathize with the captor.

Magi Character - Hakuryuu Ren

Hakuryuu Ren is the Kou Empire's fourth emperor. Hakuryuu is the owner of two Djinn, Zagan and Belial. He is a Dungeon Capturer, capturing two dungeons, and a King Vessel. Hakuryuu has fallen into depravity. He is one of the main characters of Magi.

Hakuryuu is a young man of average height and build. He has dark blue hair and blue eyes, the left eye being a paler shade than the right. He has a large burn scar on the left side of his face, and some by body which he received when he was a child. He also has thin, split-ended eyebrows and a mole on his chin, in the same place as his siblings and their mother, Gyokuen. He wears traditional clothes typical of the imperial royalty of Kou. He always carries a polearm, which later becomes his Metal Vessel of Zagan. He has a prosthetic wooden arm, attained via Zagan's power, having lost his left arm to Ithnan.

He has a serious personality and is concerned about small things. He also has a bit of an inferiority complex. Due to this complex, he becomes quite pessimistic whenever people surrounding him notice his weaknesses and takes such criticism personally.

He greatly treasures his sister, Hakuei Ren, who has not only become a mother figure for him but is also the last of his siblings.

It is revealed that he harbors an intense hatred for his mother, due to her secretly murdering half of his family. After he remembers this, Hakuryuu becomes obsessed with seeking revenge against Gyokuen for her deeds. He now mercilessly slaughters his enemies, as seen when he beheads Umm Madaura in front of her "children", and when he kills all of Hakuei's enemies on the Tenzan Plateau. He wishes to tear down the current Kou Empire and replace it with the former one, one that isn't controlled by Al-Thamen. He believes that hatred can never be erased, and the only thing you can do is erase the ones you hate.

Hakuryuu has a very troubled past. When he was six-years-old, he was caught in a large fire during a revolt, and tried to flee with his brothers, Hakuyuu and Hakuren. While they were killing Al-Thamen members left and right, Hakuyuu said that he can neither die nor let them have their way, and Hakuryuu wonders if their mother, Gyokuen, and sister, Hakuei, are alright, and if they should go help them. His brothers look at him then decide to keep going.

Eventually Hakuren died and Hakuryuu was left next to a badly burned Hakuyuu, while crying for his mother. Hakuyuu said that unfortunately it was the end for him and Hakuren, but that Hakuryuu will live and accomplish their mission. Hakuyuu told Hakuryuu to swear to fight to the very last and that he has to strike down the Kou Empire's worst enemy. Hakuryuu asked what he was talking about, and why the soldiers of Kou wanted to kill them, and who would do such a cruel thing. Hakuyuu revealed the name of the perpetrator, but Hakuryuu didn't believe him. To save his brother's life, Hakuyuu stabbed himself, drenching Hakuryuu with his blood, and ordered him to go before the fire reached him. The incident still caused him to receive the burn scar on the left side of his face, and some on his body.

After the revolt, Gyokuen told Hakuryuu and Hakuei that the new Emperor, their uncle, Koutoku Ren, would adopt them and they would still hold the title of prince and princess, although Hakuryuu would rank below Koutoku's sons. Soon after, Hakuryuu, not believing what his brother had said, asked his mother for the truth. She admitted it and said that she will marry the new Emperor. Later, Hakuei asked him what was wrong and he lied, hiding the truth about their mother, believing he had to protect her.

Magi Character - Alibaba Saluja

Alibaba Saluja is the former third Prince of the Balbadd Kingdom. He was working as a cart driver when he first met Aladdin. He was the co-leader of the Fog Troupe. Alibaba is the owner of the Djinn Amon. He is a Dungeon Capturer, capturing one Dungeon, and Aladdin's King Vessel. He has allied himself with Kou Empire and became Kouen Ren's surbodinate. He is the deuteragonist of the series Magi.

Alibaba is a young man of average height with blond hair and golden eyes. He has a short, thick ahoge on his hair and wears a small red rope tied around his neck at all times. He initially wore a traditional Arabian outfit with a sash around his waist to hold his knife, black boots with blue stripes, and one earring in each ear. As the story progresses, he additionally started wearing two red earrings on the top of his left ear (which presumably belonged to Cassim and hold his rukh).

During his training in the Reim Empire, Alibaba's attire changed to a dark blue tunic which slants on his left side and black boots with burgundy stripes. He has scars on his arm from where Garda bit him.

It was shown that he highly resembles his mother, having her soft facial features and kind eyes.

Alibaba was introduced as being very cunning and petty person, shown to respect wealthy merchants and do his best to please them, often with flattering sophistry and laughing when they call him trash. He also tried to be friends with Aladdin only for his strength. However, he has always tried his best to do honest work since his childhood.

Like Aladdin, he likes beautiful, busty women and they usually go clubbing whenever they can (except he appears to have very bad luck in there, always getting a rather ugly-looking lady who claims to be the most beautiful in the club). However, it was shown that he was actually very kind, caring and helpful. Due to having a high class education since he was young, he is also very skilled in negotiations and much more intelligent than he appears. He has no patience for those who wallow in their power at the expense of others suffering. At the same time, he can be a rather oblivious person, as he naively trusts Sinbad.

He is dedicated to helping everyone and can seem a little hard-headed, like when he goes into a fight without any help because he wants to settle something himself. He is very loyal to his friends. He became good friends with Aladdin and Morgiana and cares a lot for them. Since his Magoi has become one with Cassim's Magoi, his aura/atmosphere and behavior have changed, taking on some of Cassim's personality and habits; for example, smoking. Alibaba wanted to smoke but he still couldn't handle it. He acknowledges this change and decides to accept it as a final gift.

When Alibaba was younger, he lived in the slums of Balbadd with his mother, Anise. He led a happy life, unlike his friends, Cassim and Mariam, who were raised by a terrible father who often beat them. After his mysterious disappearance, Anise welcomed them as members of her family and thus, they became the family of four. One day, she succumbed to an illness and died. Cassim, being the oldest of them, took on the role of taking care of them. Even though it was hard for them, they combined their strength to help each other, and were helped by Anise's customers and neighbors as well. In contrary to Cassim, Alibaba tried to live his life as honestly as possible.

Not too long after, the King of Balbadd visited the slums. He revealed that Alibaba was actually his son and told him to live in the palace. Alibaba decided to discuss it with Cassim but was quickly shot down since Cassim thought of them as different human being. After the last fight, Alibaba accepted the King's offer. However, the Princes saw him as trash due to his upbringing, and even the King, the person who brought him in, ignored him when in the palace. He was lonely and had to go through intense daily training. He was taught everything from how he walks, speaks and eats, to sword fighting, economics, math, and philosophy. Eventually, thanks to his hard work, some of people started speaking to him properly and he even became close with one of his half-brothers, Sahbmad.

One night, years later, Alibaba snuck out of the palace to have a look at the slums. What he found there was nothing, no trace of junkyard street or people. As he was about to go back to the palace, he ran into Cassim. Alibaba was happy and felt nostalgic talking to Cassim after all those years. Cassim invited him on a drink and he accepted. While drinking, he noticed the level of respect Cassim had with all the adults, and how each were bowing to him. During the talk, Alibaba got drunk and told Cassim how he was able to escape from the castle. He ended up giving away a very important weakness of the palace, even though he hasn't told him the most crucial part, i.e. the location. On the way back to the palace however, Alibaba was trailed by someone Cassim had paid. After that, Alibaba went back to living in the palace.

After sometime had passed, the King came down with a deadly chronic disease. Before the king died, he told Alibaba that he would like to leave the kingdom to him. Alibaba asked about his mother and was reassured that the King loved her. This put Alibaba at ease. He refused the King's request for him to be king, explaining that it was not his place and that the two Princes should be the one to handle their country. However, he decided to devote himself to Balbadd. That night, he saw Cassim again, inside the walls of the palace. Before Alibaba realized it, he was surrounded by members of Cassim's group from the slums. They started attacking and stealing from the palace. While Alibaba was frozen, one of Cassim's subordinates noticed him. Upon learning about Alibaba's presence, Cassim ordered to just knock him out. Alibaba could only feel the heat of the flame that engulfed the palace. The next morning, Rashid had passed away. Because of his feelings of guilt and fear, Alibaba escaped Balbadd that same day. From that point, he traveled until he ran into Aladdin.

Magi Characters - Aladdin

Aladdin is one of the five Magi in the current era and a Magician. Aladdin has been the owner of the Djinn Ugo. He is the son of King Solomon and Queen Sheba of Alma Torran, and is commonly referred to as Solomon's proxy. Aladdin's mission is to prevent a repeat of the tragic incident that destroyed Alma Torran. He is the main protagonist of the series Magi.

Aladdin has a short, small figure, with medium long blue hair and bangs that stop at his eyes. He has large blue eyes, and a long, thin braid that extends down to his back. He usually wears his Magic Turban on his head, which he can remove and use to fly. A ruby sits on his forehead, connected to the turban. Usually, he wears a small blue open vest with bandages wound around his chest. He wears long puffy white Arabian pants with no shoes. He always has his Djinn Container of Ugo, which resembles a golden recorder around his neck. He also always carries around a staff, which he attained from Baba..

After training at the Magnostadt Academy for six months, Aladdin dresses in Magician robes and a hat. He doesn't wear the Magic Turban on his head anymore, but he still has the red ruby, which is now held up by a gold chain as a headpiece. His usual attire is beneath his magician robes. It is also mentioned by Alibaba that he has grown taller in the last year.

Aladdin has a kind and cheerful personality, easily able to make friends. He cherishes them a lot since he's never really had friends except for Ugo prior to his arrival in the world and as such, gets upset if people disrespects them or harms them, even holding grudges against those who hurt them. In order to help his friends, he's become dedicated to becoming a stronger person. Aladdin does everything he can to defend and protect his friends from enemy attack, even to the point of him almost dying due to over-exertion.

He's a little naive about the world, not knowing what bazaars or Dungeons are because most of his life was spent in the Room of Fortitude[3]. However, he is rather wise for his age, able to offer advice to others and providing remarkable insight at various points of time. Aladdin never seems condescending when criticizing others, and offers his opinions and thoughts in a matter-of-fact manner. He also has a calm temperament, even able to stay level-headed in dangerous or dire situations to think up of plans and solutions. He's also very eager to learn, demonstrating great enthusiasm in learning magic from Yamraiha and in his classes in Magnostadt.

Aladdin isn't shown to be a greedy person as demonstrated when he doesn't use his one wish for fortune or eternal life from Ugo[4] and readily offering his whole bag of coins to hitch a ride to Magnostadt. Despite all this, however, he is quite perverted for his age as he likes to grope women with "large, soft breasts" and according to Alibaba, has "manly interests."

Aladdin also has a tendency to eat food that isn't his, such as when he ate all the watermelons in a cart belonging to Alibaba's master as shown in the anime, and Leila's precious watermelons in the manga. He also harbors a secret feeling of loneliness because he's different from everyone else since he's a magician and since he's different even from the three other Magis, him being the fourth Magi that shouldn't even exist.

Not much is known about Aladdin's past, but he has found out who he is and where he came from thanks to Solomon and Solomon's Wisdom. The first memories he has are being in the Room of Fortitude with Ugo, where he was taught everything he knows by him. They were not able to escape from the Room of Fortitude for a long time, but they managed to escape some while after. Ugo's head wasn't as lucky. When he was speaking to Dunya about Magnostadt, Aladdin mentioned that he comes from Alma Torran.

In the Alma Torran Arc, Aladdin's origin was revealed. He is actually the son of King Solomon and Queen Sheba of Alma Torran. When Sheba became pregnant, she used magic to slow down his growth inside her womb because she wanted him to be born in a happy world. However, not so long after Solomon united the world, Arba, one of Solomon's followers and Magi betrayed him. She gathered all the members who also had ill will towards him and thus, they formed Al-Thamen. A war broke out between Al-Thamen and Solomon's supporters. Sheba fought with Arba but was ultimately defeated and killed by her. Although Sheba died, Aladdin, who was still within her womb, survived and was entrusted to Ugo as her last will.
